โ
Common mistakes โ avoid these
| Wrong โ | Correct โ | Why? |
|---|---|---|
| x+3/4 | (x+3)/4 | brackets are needed around the whole numerator |
| 2x + 5 | 2x+5 | no spaces allowed |
| two | 2 | use digits, not words |
| x+7รท2 | (x+7)/2 | use / not รท |
| X+1 | x+1 | always lowercase x |
| (x+7) / 4 | (x+7)/4 | remove spaces around / |
๐ก
Before you submit โ quick check
- No spaces anywhere in your answer
- Fractions use / (not รท)
- Brackets around numerators: (x+2)/5 not x+2/5
- Only numbers, variables and operators โ no words
- Lowercase x only
- If the answer is just a number, type the number (e.g., 4)
๐ง Remember: The computer checks your answer exactly. If you type 2x+6 but the correct answer is 2x+6 (no spaces), any space will make it wrong. Follow the format above.
